The Fifth Annual Fall Fundraiser of The Sundari Foundation, Inc. at the Margulies Warehouse on Friday, October 16, 2009, benefitting the Lotus House Women’s Shelter, will be an art event like no other - a fun, thought-provoking, interactive creative “art happening,” shaped as much by the artists as the audience.
Alan Kaprow first used the term art “happening” in the 1950’s to describe the immediacy of live art performances and the unfolding narrative of the creative work of artists and participants on the cutting edge of the artistic movements of his time. In times that compel us to find new answers to the question of how we can truly make a difference for so many in need, we will pioneer an art happening here in Miami that celebrates our shared humanity and the power of coming together to make hope
blossom for an end to homelessness.
